Purpose of Appointed Zoning Officer

Kraft Code Services is appointed by the Board of Supervisors to act as the Township's Zoning Officer.  The Zoning Officials of Kraft Code Services are in place to protect the health, safety and welfare of the Township residents by enforcing the Township Zoning Ordinance.  

Purpose of Zoning Ordinance

The Township Zoning Ordinance was adopted to ensure the health, safety and welfare of township residents by regulating land use within the Township.  Every parcel in the Township is located within a specific zoning district which contains specific requirements including permitted use.

Zoning Districts

Every parcel in the Township is within a zoning district.  The zoning districts are as follows:

  • A-1 Agricultural Preservation
  • A-2 Agricultural
  • A-3 Agribusiness and Agriculture
  • C-1 Village Commercial
  • C-2 General Commercial
  • C-3 Limited Commercial
  • C-E Campus Employment
  • I-1 Light Industrial
  • I-2 General Industrial
  • P-O Professional Office

  • R-1 Low Density Residential
  • R-2, R-3, R-4  Suburban Residential
  • R-5, R-6 Urban Residential
  • R-7 Retirement Complex
  • R Recreation - Residential
  • RC Rural Conservation
  • RP Resource Preservation
  • TAR Transitional Agricultural/Residential
  • TC Town Center


Zoning Maps

The Township maintains an online zoning map which will allow citizens to search by parcel address to identify the zoning district of the parcel. 

Zoning Appeals & Variances

Applicants who cannot comply or do not agree with the Zoning Officer's interpretation of the Zoning Ordinance may file an appeal seeking a variance or special exemption
