The South Heidelberg Township Board of Supervisors as part of its October 24, 2023 General Business Meeting, awarded the Trash & Recycling contract that will begin in April 1, 2024 to Casella-GFL. The new contract will result in a decrease in the overall costs citizens pay for trash and recycling service.
The new contract Trash Rate will be $315 starting on April 1, 2024 which represents a $22.80 decrease (6.7%) for standard service compared to the current contract or a $43.80 decrease (12.2%) for those with standard + cart rental service.
In addition the Board has initiated a Senior Citizen 10% rebate program in which Seniors can apply for a 10% rebate on their yearly trash bills with proof of age and proof of payment of trash bill. As mentioned in prior posts the Trash bill will now appear as a line on the yearly tax bill rather than being billed quarterly by the hauler.
