For September, the Spotlight is on Angela Wright. A South Heidelberg Township resident since 2002, Angela moved to the Township with her husband Chris in 2002 and together have raised three children, Rebecca, Justin and Hannah. Angela also became the Township Playground Coordinator in 2017 and was named the Recreation Director for the Township in 2020. Angela does a great job of building family and togetherness in all that she is involved in and most recently took on the task of creating a Holiday Lights at South Mountain event, which included hours of time by her and her family to decorate and light South Mountain Park for the event held in December.
On Our South Heidelberg Community
"What I didn’t know when I moved here is how much my family would continue to grow. And that family is ALL OF YOU who reside in South Heidelberg!"
On Becoming South Heidelberg Township Playground Coordinator
"I can’t even begin to express how excited I was when I became the Playground Coordinator in 2017 for our Township’s Summer Playground program. All of your families became an extension of my own family! And I LOVE TO PLAY!"
On Township Recreation Activities During the Pandemic
"Well, none of us expected the pandemic this past year. My heart was literally broken when it was decided that it would be in everyone’s best interest to cancel our 2020 playground program. But that’s when my wheels started spinning. With assistance from the Township and the Recreation Board, we still pulled off some really fun stuff, culminating with our first annual and currently running “Holiday Lights at South Mountain”."
Angela has really contributed to making our recreation programs memorable and impactful for children and citizens. Angela and her family worked tirelessly to setup the Holiday Lights at South Mountain Park in the hopes of bringing cheer and joy to others. Angela really exemplifies what is means to care for others and we thank her for her service to our community and hope you enjoy reading more about her Spotlight for December!
